Ring sizing machine, Niessing
This ring sizing machine makes it easy to reduce and enlarge rings without great effort.
The kit includes:
- Covering hood
- Reducing plate with 9 holes
- Steel punch
- 2 x ring mandrels (Ø 20 and 26 mm)
- Spring plug
- 33 x ring size discs
- 2 x extractor hooks
- 2 x fixing bolts
- 24 x copper rings
Enlarging:
Choose a matching ring mandrel, and put it into the bayonet catch in the base and lock it with a 90˚ rotation. Make sure that the marks in the base and the mandrel are matching. Mount spring plug and extractor hooks on the machine. Make sure that the spring plug is screwed on tight! Put a ring size disk in the desired ring size on the mandrel. The top numbers showing the final ring size (inner circumference). Now, place the ring on the mandrel and put a copper ring on top of it. Make sure that the mandrel is slightly greased. Fasten the spring plug and press the copper ring together with the ring down towards the ring size disc. While loosen the spring plug again, the extractor hooks will lift the ring size disk together with the ring. Turn the ring upside down and redo the process until the ring is sized and parallel.
Reducing:
Remove the mandrel and extractor hooks and mount the spring plug. Make sure that the spring plug is screwed on tight! The steel punch will be mounted by screwing down the spring plug on top of its conical mandrel. Put the ring to be sized into a matching hole of the reducing plate and push down the ring with the punch. Make sure that the plate is slightly greased. Turn the ring upside down and redo the process until the ring is sized and parallel. Choose size of hole in the reducing plate by making sure, that the ring to be sized sticks out, no more than a quarter of its width.
