At Aktiv Guld's courses, you'll encounter our passionate and dedicated instructors. Each instructor is deeply committed to their craft, driven by a passion for sharing their knowledge and experience with our students.

Our instructors are chosen for their expertise and profound understanding of the goldsmith craft. With many years of experience, they have worked with a diverse range of materials and techniques. Additionelly, they place great value on creating an inspiring learning environment for all our students.

In our GRS courses, students will be guided by Ben Bentvelzen. For our stone setting course, Simon Yde is ready to share his wealth of knowledge. ​​​​​​​

Ben Bentvelzen

Despite his young age, the certified GRS instructor Ben Bentvelzen has already built an impressive career and a noteworthy CV in engraving and stone setting.

He travels worldwide as an independent professional, taking on tasks for clients, teaching classes, and providing one-on-one training. Additionally, he is a demonstrator at international jewelry exhibitions.

Education and experience:

  • Instructor at Aktiv Guld since 2019.
  • Certified GRS instructor since 2018, Glendo Corporation, Kansas.
  • He has taken numerous courses and received private instruction in the United States, Austria, and Netherlands in engraving, design, stone setting, diamonds, and more. Notably, he studied under Martin Strolz for a year, a renowned engraver and instructor in GRS' "Grand Masters Program." He furthered his education at the prestigious Alexandre School in Belgium (2013), where he received training in stone setting. After completing his education at Alexandre School, he started his own stone setting business for Alexandre (the school's founder). At the Baselwold Fair he was introduced to GRS and has since worked as a demonstrator for them in Europe, Thailand, and the USA.
  • He began his goldsmith training at the age of 16 and graduated in 2011 in Schoonhoven, Netherland.

Simon Yde

Simon Yde graduated as a goldsmith in 2007 from Teknisk Skole København and has since built an impressive career specializing in the art of stone setting.

With experience gained from renowned Danish companies such as Georg Jensen and Ole Lynggaard, Simon has honed his skills among some of the country's best. Today, Simon operates his own goldsmith workshop in Frederiksberg, where he applies his many years of experience in stone setting.

Since 2021, Simon has been teaching at Aktiv Guld's stone setting course, where he has distinguished himself as a dedicated instructor. His inspiring approach has enriched students with new knowledge for their daily goldsmith work. Simon's passion for the art of stone setting and his enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and experience are valuable assets to the entire industry.
